EXPERIENCE - UCSB
2000 - 2001Visiting Researcher
2000 – 2001 (1 yr) | Santa Barbara, California, USA
My responsabilities:
As Visiting Research Engineer in the group of Professor Coldren, I worked on the modeling of vertical cavity semiconductor optical amplifiers (VCSOAs). This type of device has the same structure as a VCSEL (Vertical cavity surface emitting laser), but it is used as an optical amplifier.
Main achievements:
- Cleared up an apparent discrepancy between previous modeling efforts reported by the scientific literature
- Published these results in peer reviewed scientific journals and presented them at the International conference of the IEEE Lasers and Electro- Optics Society, 2001, in San Diego USA
